It is the chair for a two-top that has to become a four-top when a group walks in. The timber carries the load and the fabric is what people meet at the table, which is the right way round for a chair that gets used all day.
Frame and upholstery
The frame is built from timber sections, sanded through three grits before the first coat goes on. Upholstery is a woven fabric over foam, with the seams piped so the edge keeps its line. The arms sit at a height that clears a 720 mm table top, so the chair pulls in without catching.

Seat height is set at 450 mm for 720–750 mm cafe tables. We cut to your drawings rather than to a catalogue: frame colour, upholstery and seat height can all move, and a sample leaves the workshop before the run starts. Fabric takes a vacuum head once a week and a spot clean the same day something spills.
