It is the chair for a two-top that has to become a four-top when a group walks in. The solid wood carries the load and the velvet is what people meet at the table, which is the right way round for a chair that gets used all day.
Frame and upholstery
The frame is solid wood, dry-jointed and glued at the corners rather than stapled, so it stays square through a year of being pushed in and out. The velvet pile is short and dense, chosen so it does not flatten where people push back from the table. The silhouette is retro, drawn from the shapes that came back into cafe work after the laminate years.
Made to your floor plan
The order starts when the sample is signed off. Frame colour, upholstery and seat height are the three things we change most often, and all three are quoted with the sample. Velvet wants a soft brush against the pile, not a damp cloth, which leaves a mark.
