It goes along a long shared table, where the chairs are the only thing that moves all day. There is no upholstery to wear through here, so what you see is what the chair is: solid wood through the frame and the seat.
Frame and upholstery
The frame is solid wood, jointed and glued at the corners rather than stapled, so it stays square through a year of being pushed in and out. There is no upholstery on this model, so the frame is the whole chair and there is nothing to recover later. The back runs above the shoulder line, for a room where people sit for an hour and lean.
Built to your drawing
The seat frame is mortised into the legs, not screwed into the outside face where the fixing would show. The order starts when the sample is signed off. Frame colour, upholstery and seat height are the three things we change most often, and all three are quoted with the sample.
Ordering and care
Lead time runs from sample sign-off, not from the enquiry, which is the number most quotes leave out. Two cloths, one dry and one damp, cover what the frame needs.
