It works along a banquette, where the chair is only ever pulled out and pushed back. The stainless steel carries the load and the linen is what people meet at the table, which is the right way round for a chair that gets used all day.
Frame and upholstery
The frame is stainless steel, brushed rather than polished, so cleaning cloths leave no marks on it. Linen upholstery, with the slub left in, so the surface reads as cloth rather than vinyl.
Built to your drawing
The finish goes on in three coats, sanded back between the second and the third. Nothing here is stocked. Frame colour, upholstery and seat height follow your drawing, and the first sample goes out before the run is booked.
Ordering and care
Lead time runs from sample sign-off, not from the enquiry, which is the number most quotes leave out. Linen creases where people sit; it is meant to, and a warm iron takes it back.
