It suits the middle of the floor, where chairs get turned and dragged rather than lifted. The solid wood carries the load and the rattan is what people meet at the table, which is the right way round for a chair that gets used all day.
Frame and upholstery
The frame is solid wood, jointed and glued at the corners rather than stapled, so it stays square through a year of being pushed in and out. The seat is woven in rattan, pulled tight over the frame so it does not sag at the front edge. The back is curved in plan as well as in section, which is what stops a shoulder finding an edge.
Built to your drawing
The finish goes on in three coats, sanded back between the second and the third. We build from your floor plan, not from stock. Frame finish, upholstery and seat height are all open to change, and a sample goes out before production.
Ordering and care
Lead time runs from sample sign-off, not from the enquiry, which is the number most quotes leave out. Rattan wants a dry brush and a damp cloth, and it should not be left wet overnight.
