It goes under a table that is cleared and reset four times between opening and close. The solid wood carries the load and the linen is what people meet at the table, which is the right way round for a chair that gets used all day.
Frame and upholstery
The frame is solid wood, jointed and glued at the corners rather than stapled, so it stays square through a year of being pushed in and out. Linen upholstery, with the slub left in, so the surface reads as cloth rather than vinyl.
Built to your drawing
Welds are dressed flat before coating, so there is no ridge where a hand goes under the seat. Seat height is set to your drawing rather than to a stock number: send the table or counter height and the leg is cut to suit, and a sample leaves the workshop before the run starts.
Ordering and care
Lead time runs from sample sign-off, not from the enquiry, which is the number most quotes leave out. Linen creases where people sit; it is meant to, and a warm iron takes it back.
