Scandinavian Solid Wood Dining Chair with Velvet Seat

It is the chair that ends up on the terrace on a warm afternoon and back inside by seven. The solid wood carries the load and the velvet is what people meet at the table, which is the right way round for a chair that gets used all day.

Frame and upholstery

The frame is solid wood, jointed and glued at the corners rather than stapled, so it stays square through a year of being pushed in and out. The velvet pile is short and dense, chosen so it does not flatten where people push back from the table.

Built to your drawing

Each run is sampled at the bench: one chair is built first and signed off before the rest start. The order starts when the sample is signed off. Frame colour, upholstery and seat height are the three things we change most often, and all three are quoted with the sample.

Ordering and care

It is packed flat where the design allows, which keeps the freight bill down on a run of forty or more. Velvet wants a soft brush against the pile, not a damp cloth, which leaves a mark.
