It is the spare seat by the door, the one pulled across when a third person joins a table. The rattan carries the load and the rattan is what people meet at the table, which is the right way round for a chair that gets used all day.
Frame and upholstery
The frame is built from rattan, wrapped and bound at the joints, which is what keeps a light chair stiff. The seat is woven in rattan, pulled tight over the frame so it does not sag at the front edge.
Built to your drawing
Seat rails are sized from the upholstery thickness, so the cushion does not push the frame apart. We work from the drawing rather than from a stock list. Frame colour, upholstery and seat height stay open until the sample is signed off.
Ordering and care
It is packed flat where the design allows, which keeps the freight bill down on a run of forty or more. Rattan wants a dry brush and a damp cloth, and it should not be left wet overnight.
