It works along a banquette, where the chair is only ever pulled out and pushed back. The oak wood carries the load and the leather is what people meet at the table, which is the right way round for a chair that gets used all day.
Frame and upholstery
The frame is oak, chosen for the same reason a bench top is oak — it takes a knock and keeps its shape. Seat and back are upholstered in leather, cut by hand and stitched with matching thread.
Built to your drawing
Corner blocks are glued and pinned, which is what stops a chair going out of square after a season. We work from the drawing rather than from a stock list. Frame colour, upholstery and seat height stay open until the sample is signed off.
Ordering and care
It is packed flat where the design allows, which keeps the freight bill down on a run of forty or more. Leather wants a damp cloth and a neutral soap, nothing with solvent in it.
