It goes where the seating has to move twice a day: the window run in the morning, the back wall after six. There is no upholstery to wear through here, so what you see is what the chair is: oak wood through the frame and the seat.
Frame and upholstery
The frame is oak, chosen for the same reason a bench top is oak — it takes a knock and keeps its shape. There is no upholstery on this model, so the frame is the whole chair and there is nothing to recover later.
Built to your drawing
Corner blocks are glued and pinned, which is what stops a chair going out of square after a season. We work from the drawing rather than from a stock list. Frame colour, upholstery and seat height stay open until the sample is signed off.
Ordering and care
It is packed flat where the design allows, which keeps the freight bill down on a run of forty or more. Two cloths, one dry and one damp, cover what the frame needs.
