It works along a banquette, where the chair is only ever pulled out and pushed back. The ash wood carries the load and the rattan is what people meet at the table, which is the right way round for a chair that gets used all day.
Frame and upholstery
Ash is used for the frame: straight grain, so a thin back rail stays stiff without being made thicker. The seat is woven in rattan, pulled tight over the frame so it does not sag at the front edge. The back is woven rather than solid, so the chair reads light from across the room.
Built to your drawing
Feet are fitted with felt or nylon glides, depending on whether the floor is tile or timber. We work from the drawing rather than from a stock list. Frame colour, upholstery and seat height stay open until the sample is signed off.
Ordering and care
It is packed flat where the design allows, which keeps the freight bill down on a run of forty or more. Rattan wants a dry brush and a damp cloth, and it should not be left wet overnight.
