It suits the middle of the floor, where chairs get turned and dragged rather than lifted. The ash wood carries the load and the leather is what people meet at the table, which is the right way round for a chair that gets used all day.
Frame and upholstery
Ash is used for the frame: straight grain, so a thin back rail stays stiff without being made thicker. Seat and back are upholstered in leather, cut by hand and stitched with matching thread.
Built to your drawing
Legs are cut from the same board as the rails, so the grain runs the same way round the frame. We work from the drawing rather than from a stock list. Frame colour, upholstery and seat height stay open until the sample is signed off.
Ordering and care
It is packed flat where the design allows, which keeps the freight bill down on a run of forty or more. Leather wants a damp cloth and a neutral soap, nothing with solvent in it.
