It is the chair that ends up on the terrace on a warm afternoon and back inside by seven. The rattan carries the load and the leather is what people meet at the table, which is the right way round for a chair that gets used all day.
Frame and upholstery
The frame is built from rattan, wrapped and bound at the joints, which is what keeps a light chair stiff. Seat and back are upholstered in leather, cut by hand and stitched with matching thread. The back is woven rather than solid, so the chair reads light from across the room.
Built to your drawing
Hardware is stainless where the chair will be wiped down, and recessed so it does not catch a cloth. Nothing here is stocked. Frame colour, upholstery and seat height follow your drawing, and the first sample goes out before the run is booked.
Ordering and care
It is packed flat where the design allows, which keeps the freight bill down on a run of forty or more. Leather wants a damp cloth and a neutral soap, nothing with solvent in it.
