It works along a banquette, where the chair is only ever pulled out and pushed back. There is no upholstery to wear through here, so what you see is what the chair is: solid wood through the frame and the seat.
Frame and upholstery
The frame is solid wood, jointed and glued at the corners rather than stapled, so it stays square through a year of being pushed in and out. There is no upholstery on this model, so the frame is the whole chair and there is nothing to recover later.
Built to your drawing
Corner blocks are glued and pinned, which is what stops a chair going out of square after a season. Nothing here is stocked. Frame colour, upholstery and seat height follow your drawing, and the first sample goes out before the run is booked.
Ordering and care
It is packed flat where the design allows, which keeps the freight bill down on a run of forty or more. Two cloths, one dry and one damp, cover what the frame needs.
