It suits the corner table, where the chair is pushed back against the wall and left there. The oak wood carries the load and the leather is what people meet at the table, which is the right way round for a chair that gets used all day.
Frame and upholstery
The frame is oak, chosen for the same reason a bench top is oak — it takes a knock and keeps its shape. Seat and back are upholstered in leather, cut by hand and stitched with matching thread.
Built to your drawing
Legs are cut from the same board as the rails, so the grain runs the same way round the frame. Nothing here is stocked. Frame colour, upholstery and seat height follow your drawing, and the first sample goes out before the run is booked.
Ordering and care
It is packed flat where the design allows, which keeps the freight bill down on a run of forty or more. Leather wants a damp cloth and a neutral soap, nothing with solvent in it.
