It works along a banquette, where the chair is only ever pulled out and pushed back. The rattan carries the load and the rattan is what people meet at the table, which is the right way round for a chair that gets used all day.
Frame and upholstery
The frame is built from rattan, wrapped and bound at the joints, which is what keeps a light chair stiff. The seat is woven in rattan, pulled tight over the frame so it does not sag at the front edge. The back is woven rather than solid, so the chair reads light from across the room.
Built to your drawing
Hardware is stainless where the chair will be wiped down, and recessed so it does not catch a cloth. Every run starts from your drawing. Frame colour, upholstery and seat height are open, samples go out before the production run, and the whole order leaves from Foshan.
Ordering and care
It is packed flat where the design allows, which keeps the freight bill down on a run of forty or more. Rattan wants a dry brush and a damp cloth, and it should not be left wet overnight.
