It suits a room where the tables are fixed and the chairs are what people rearrange. The rattan carries the load and the leather is what people meet at the table, which is the right way round for a chair that gets used all day.
Frame and upholstery
The frame is built from rattan, wrapped and bound at the joints, which is what keeps a light chair stiff. Seat and back are upholstered in leather, cut by hand and stitched with matching thread. The back is woven rather than solid, so the chair reads light from across the room.
Built to your drawing
Each run is sampled at the bench: one chair is built first and signed off before the rest start. Every run starts from your drawing. Frame colour, upholstery and seat height are open, samples go out before the production run, and the whole order leaves from Foshan.
Ordering and care
It is packed flat where the design allows, which keeps the freight bill down on a run of forty or more. Leather wants a damp cloth and a neutral soap, nothing with solvent in it.
