It is the chair for a two-top that has to become a four-top when a group walks in. The solid wood carries the load and the boucle is what people meet at the table, which is the right way round for a chair that gets used all day.
Frame and upholstery
The frame is solid wood, jointed and glued at the corners rather than stapled, so it stays square through a year of being pushed in and out. The boucle loop yarn gives the shell texture without a print, and hides marks a flat weave would show.
Built to your drawing
Where a run is going into a chain fit-out, the first batch is shot against the drawing before packing. Seat height is set to your drawing rather than to a stock number: send the table or counter height and the leg is cut to suit, and a sample leaves the workshop before the run starts.
Ordering and care
It is packed flat where the design allows, which keeps the freight bill down on a run of forty or more. Boucle holds a crumb until it is brushed out, so give it a brush rather than a wipe.
