It is the chair for a two-top that has to become a four-top when a group walks in. The solid wood carries the load and the leather is what people meet at the table, which is the right way round for a chair that gets used all day.
Frame and upholstery
The frame is solid wood, jointed and glued at the corners rather than stapled, so it stays square through a year of being pushed in and out. Seat and back are upholstered in leather, cut by hand and stitched with matching thread. The back is round, which keeps the chair from looking like a box in a small room.
Built to your drawing
Hardware is stainless where the chair will be wiped down, and recessed so it does not catch a cloth. Seat height is set to your drawing rather than to a stock number: send the table or counter height and the leg is cut to suit, and a sample leaves the workshop before the run starts.
Ordering and care
It is packed flat where the design allows, which keeps the freight bill down on a run of forty or more. Leather wants a damp cloth and a neutral soap, nothing with solvent in it.
